Love Moycullen- Galway village launches novel Christmas Campaign

Love Moycullen, the community and business group in Moycullen are launching their Christmas 2016 campaign with the message:  ‘Moycullen, We’re closer than you think’. With over 60 retailers and service providers, Moycullen is getting ready to spend locally this Christmas and wants to encourage the people of Galway to do the same.

Their hassle free Christmas shopping campaign will kick off on Thursday 8th December at 3pm when the village turns into a winter wonderland. Arcana, the global events specialists behind Galway International Arts Festival, The Script World Tour and The Electric Night Runs will be running an outdoor children’s entertainment event as well as a feast for the visual senses from 3pm – 5pm on the green at An Fuarán (weather permitting, alternatively it will be moved across the street to the function room at The Forge).

Galway Bay FM will broadcast live all day from the village with lots of giveaways and vouchers to be won, Santa will officiate the turning on of the village Christmas lights and closing the show; a recital from local school girl soprano Aimee Banks who has recently returned from preforming at Carnegie Hall, Aimee will be accompanied by the local children’s choir.

“After two years of traffic delays due to road works, Moycullen is finally ready to welcome back our many customers from Galway City, Knocknacarra and Salthill who may have been put off visiting during that period. We are delighted to show off the beautiful new entrance to our village which is a mere 7 minute drive from the Westwood hotel.

Free parking throughout the village as well as the fantastic service provided by our businesses should make Moycullen the must visit destination when shopping anytime of the year especially over Christmas to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city. We have worked so hard to make sure this village is an enterprise hub and with over 60 shops now here, I think Moycullen is a great place to come to shop, dine out, have a quiet drink and of course pamper yourself. This event is a celebration and a thank you to everyone who supports the village,” explained Valerie Osborne and Anne Dunne local business owners.

All stores will be open late on the 8th Dec and are offering special discounts, individual in house events and live entertainment. Visit the ‘Love Moycullen’ Facebook page which will host the  schedule of all events and discounts available on the day. There will be a food, fashion and shoppers trail so that no location or Christmas bargain is missed.
