Galways westend restaurants win major titles at national restaurant awards
Three of Galways westend well known restaurants took home five awards at the Restaurant Association Awards for 2018. The awards which were held in Dublin on Monday night 15th May saw the leading lights of the culinary world in Ireland go head to head in the quest to be the best.
Sea Road shone last night at the Restaurant Association of Ireland awards with Jess Murphy being awarded the title of Best Chef in Ireland. The Michelin Bib Gourmad Restaurant Kai was also awarded Best Digital Marketers and Murphy was named as the Best Chef in Connacht. Heading onto Dominick Street and the Michelin Star Restaurant Aniar were named as the Best Wine Experience in Connacht, their sister restaurant also in Galways westend Tartare Café and Wine Bar took home Best Emerging Cuisine in Connacht.
“An incredible night for the area and for all three restaurants, all awards are so deserved as we all know the years of work, creation and self-belief that goes into running a kitchen and restaurant. These wins again showcase the brilliance and talent that is in Galway and how the city is more than making its mark in gastronomy worldwide,” said a spokesperson for the Westend Traders association.
