37 west- Making ‘Healthy the new sexy’- The 37 west PR Story

Just over one year after opening, 37 west in Newcastle in Galway has quickly established itself as the place to eat for breakfast, brunch, lunch or just to grab a coffee and a tasty healthy treat. The brainchild of business woman Gill Carroll, 37 west was born out a vision and dream of a woman who had worked in hospitability and retail for over 10 years but wanted to forge her own path and express her personality through healthy food.

This very interesting cafe- which uses the tag line ‘Healthy is the new sexy’- connection to the west is not just in the name or location, the cafe uses local produce from local suppliers keeping a very strong link to the west of Ireland. “I wanted to ensure that the business was not just about healthy food but it was about using local suppliers, ensuring that the food we serve is the best whilst also helping to support the local economy,” tells Gill.

37 west offers slow food- fast, offering a range of filling lunch options including superfood salads, fish cakes, chicken skewers, healthy burgers, wraps and their signature chicken melt. Breakfast at 37 west brings crunchy granola and fresh yoghurt, organic porridge, scrambled eggs with lean rashers,  French toast and fresh fruit to the table- all washed down with the freshest vegetable juices, smoothies and freshly brewed coffee.

Designed with comfort in mind the rustic laid back design of 37 west means customers can sink into their custom built booths, grab a stool if dining for one or head out to the private garden to take in what the day has to offer.

This cafe offers healthy nutritious food that is filing and that people actually want to eat. From their creative salads, to their baked goods, 37 west’s range of food and drinks would whet any appetite.

“People always talk about location being one of the most important factors in business, but thankfully this is not the case for one of Galway’s best Cafe’s. We have very little parking and are slightly off the beaten track. Opening the doors in March 2013 I could really only have imagined the success I had envisaged for the place. I knew my vision and knew what I wanted for 37 west but didn’t know until we were open would people be as excited by the real option of ordering and eating healthy food, food that is actually good for you- with no gimmicks or strings attached,” explained Gill.

37 west is open 7 days a week and offers dine in or take out option on all their dishes. To see their daily specials like 37 west on facebook or log onto
